La Casa Botines abrió sus puertas el pasado viernes 3 de febrero con la exposición «El León de Gaudí: Casa Botines 125 años». Con esta muestra, la Fundación EspañaDuero da por inaugurado el edificio de gaudiniano que, como anunciamos en este blog, permitirá el acceso a los visitantes por primera vez en su historia, este año 2017.

 

La exposición de la Casa Botines permite acercarse como nunca a los detalles más singulares del edificio. Cuenta con maquetas, fotografías, enseres, cuadros y mobiliario de la época que harán las delicias de los visitantes. El título de la muestra hace referencia a la imagen de un León que el propio Gaudí incluyó en los planes originales del inmueble. Además, como indica el mismo nombre de la exposición, ésta coincide con el 125 aniversario de la obra de Gaudí.

Con esta muestra, los leoneses y todos los aficionados al genial arquitecto Gaudí podrán disfrutar por primera vez del interior de la Casa Botines. La ciudad entera y toda la comunidad gaudiniana gana así una irrepetible pieza del patrimonio y una parte inseparable de la historia de la ciudad de León.

Como señaló el alcalde de la ciudad, Antonio Silván, «En estos 125 años de vida, la Casa Botines ha sido contemplada y admirada por leoneses y foráneos. Una admiración que en muchos casos era acompañada por la inquietud de no poder contemplar el interior del edificio: su distribución de espacios, las proyecciones de la iluminación, las bóvedas o los torreones». Algo que, por fin, ya es posible.

 

El acceso a «El León de Gaudí: Casa Botines 125 años» es completamente gratuito, y podrá realizarse hasta el 31 de marzo. El horario de la misma será de 10h de la mañana a 14h de la tarde y de 17h de la tarde a 20h de la noche, de lunes a sábado y los domingos de 10h a 14h. Las dependencias de la Casa Botines aún no son visitables, pero se podrá acceder a ellas a partir de abril, previo pago de una entrada.
